Delivery Policy

How Pasture protects your protein from processor to door.

Last updated: June 1, 2026

1. Scheduling and delivery windows

You see your estimated delivery window before you pay. Pasture confirms a specific window of no more than four hours once your order is ready to release from the processor. You will receive an SMS and email confirming the window and a same-day "courier dispatched" notification with a live tracking link.

2. Cold-chain custody

Every Pasture delivery moves through a logged cold-chain handoff. Frozen product is maintained at or below 28°F. Fresh product is maintained at or below 41°F. Couriers record probe temperature readings at pickup, at any stop longer than 30 minutes, and at delivery. Readings are auditable by you, the producer, the processor, and Pasture for three years.

3. Processor to courier handoff

Custody of the product transfers from the processor to the courier when the courier signs the cold-chain handoff log at the processor dock and confirms pickup temperature. Until that moment, risk of loss rests with the processor. After that moment, and until you sign for delivery, risk of loss rests with the courier per the Courier Agreement.

4. Risk of loss in transit

Loss, damage, theft, or spoilage occurring in transit is the responsibility of the courier. You are made whole by Pasture under the Refund and Cancellation Policy (replacement, refund, or store credit) regardless of which party is financially responsible; Pasture allocates the cost between courier, processor, and producer based on the cold-chain log, handoff records, and POD evidence.

5. Proof of delivery and title transfer

Delivery requires your signature, captured by the courier on a mobile device. The courier also captures a photograph of the packaging at the placement location and a final temperature reading. Signature plus photo plus temperature reading together constitute proof of delivery (POD). POD transfers title and risk of loss to you, closes the order, and triggers Net 10 settlement to the producer, processor, and courier. We do not leave product unattended without your signature.

6. Missed deliveries and redelivery fees

If no eligible recipient is present at the address during the confirmed window, the courier will attempt to reach you by SMS, wait up to ten minutes, and then initiate the re-route flow. A second attempt is scheduled within 24 hours. A redelivery fee is disclosed at the time the second attempt is scheduled (typically $25 for local routes; the exact amount is shown before you confirm). After two failed delivery attempts, the order is escalated to Shepherd review and may, at Pasture's option, be refunded (less courier costs incurred) or held for in-person pickup at a Pasture-approved cold-storage facility.

7. Address changes and re-route

You may change your delivery address up to 24 hours before the confirmed window at no charge. Address changes inside the 24-hour window are accommodated where feasible and may incur a re-route fee disclosed before you confirm. Changes that move the order outside the courier's service area may require cancellation under the Refund and Cancellation Policy.

8. Spoilage and cold-chain breach

If the temperature log shows a sustained excursion above the regulatory limit during in-transit custody, or if you observe obvious thaw or compromised packaging at delivery, refuse the delivery and notify Pasture support immediately at support@pasturepayments.com. Pasture will arrange replacement, full refund, or store credit, and the loss is allocated to the responsible party (courier, processor, or producer) based on the cold-chain log.

9. Delivery fees

Delivery fees are shown at checkout and locked with your order. There are no surprise fuel, handling, or final-mile surcharges. Redelivery and re-route fees, where applicable, are disclosed in advance per Sections 6 and 7.
