How Pasture collects, uses, and protects your information.

Last updated: June 1, 2026

1. Scope

This policy describes how Pasture.Food handles personal information collected through pasturepayments.com, the Pasture mobile experience, and any related services. Pasture is the data controller for its own uses of your information. Producers, processors, and couriers that help fulfill your order are independent controllers for their own uses of order information necessary to perform their part of the fulfillment.

2. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly, including:

  • Account information such as name, email, phone, and password.
  • Reservation information such as the share you selected, payment plan, cut preferences, and delivery or pickup address.
  • Payment method tokens stored by Stripe. Pasture does not store full card numbers.
  • Customer service messages and survey responses.

We also collect information automatically when you use the platform:

  • Device, browser, IP address, and usage data.
  • Cookies and similar technologies as described below.

3. How we use information

  • To create and operate your account.
  • To process reserve orders, schedule prepayments, and coordinate fulfillment with vendors.
  • To communicate transactional notices, including deposit confirmations, prepayment receipts, payment failures, and delivery scheduling.
  • To detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, security incidents, and policy violations.
  • To improve the platform, measure performance, and conduct internal analytics.
  • To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

4. Sharing with producers, processors, and couriers

To fulfill your order we share order details with the producer and processor associated with your listing, and with the courier assigned to your delivery. Each party receives only the information they need:

  • Producer: order identifier, harvest target, cut preferences, and payment status.
  • Processor: name, contact information, cut preferences, delivery target, and payment status (as seller of record).
  • Courier: name, delivery address, contact information, delivery window, and order identifier; no payment information.

These parties may use the information only to fulfill the order, to comply with applicable food safety, USDA, or motor carrier regulations, and to provide customer service for that order. They may not use customer information for their own marketing without your separate consent and may not retain it longer than required by applicable food traceability law.

We share information with service providers that help us operate the platform, including Stripe for payments and marketplace facilitator tax remittance, our cloud hosting and database provider, our email and notification provider, our analytics provider, and our customer support tools. These providers are contractually obligated to use information only on our behalf.

5. Payment information

Payment information is collected and processed by Stripe under the Stripe Services Agreement and the Stripe Connected Account Agreement. Pasture stores only tokenized references to your payment method, the last four digits of your card, the card brand, and the expiration date. Pasture does not store full card numbers, CVV values, or bank account numbers.

6. Marketing and consent

With your consent, we may send marketing emails about new vendors, share openings, seasonal promotions, and platform features. You can withdraw consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or by emailing privacy@pasturepayments.com. Withdrawal of marketing consent does not affect transactional messages required to operate your account and your reserve orders.

7. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, secure the platform, and measure performance. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Some features of the platform require cookies to function.

8. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, audit logging, and least privilege principles. No system is perfectly secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact security@pasturepayments.com immediately.

9. Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to operate your account, fulfill orders, comply with tax, accounting, and food traceability requirements, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When no longer needed, information is deleted or de identified.

10. Your privacy rights

Depending on your state of residence, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, to opt out of targeted advertising or the sale or sharing of personal information, and to appeal a denied request.
