Terms of Use

The agreement between you and Pasture, Inc.

Last updated: May 10, 2026

1. Platform-only role

Pasture, Inc. (“Pasture,” “we,” “us”) operates an online payment and transaction platform that connects consumers (“customers,” “you”) with independent meat processors and packing houses (“vendors”). Pasture does not produce, source, process, store, package, label, or deliver any food product. Pasture is not the seller of record for any product listed unless explicitly stated otherwise on a specific listing.

All listings, product descriptions, photos, weights, prices, delivery commitments and warranties are made by the vendor, not by Pasture. Pasture provides the software infrastructure that enables reservations, layaway-style payment plans, identity, and payouts.

2. Independent vendor responsibility

Vendors on Pasture are independent businesses. Each vendor is solely responsible for:

  • Sourcing live cattle and selecting animals.
  • USDA, state, or custom-exempt processing under their own inspection number.
  • Packaging, labeling, and applicable food-safety disclosures.
  • Cold storage and frozen cold-chain delivery to the customer's address.
  • All federal, state, and local regulatory compliance.

Pasture does not inspect product, take custody of product, or guarantee yields, breeds, finish, or take-home weights advertised by a vendor.

3. Payment authorization & recurring billing

By reserving a beef share you authorize Pasture's payment processor (Stripe, Inc.) to charge your payment method for (a) a 25% non-refundable deposit at checkout, and (b) the recurring biweekly or monthly installments described on the listing and your order page, until the order is paid in full or cancelled per the Refund and Cancellation Policy.

Pasture retains a platform commission equal to 10% of the order total. A portion of your deposit equal to that commission is retained by Pasture as an advance; the remainder of the deposit is released to the processor at checkout to secure processing and delivery capacity. All installments collected after the deposit are held by Pasture and are released to the processor only after delivery is confirmed, at which point any remaining commission is finalized and settlement is automatic.

All payment plans are limited to a maximum of four months (120 days) from the deposit. Pricing shown on a listing is locked only for the duration of your active payment plan; vendors are not required to lock pricing beyond the selected order term. Orders are not released for processing or delivery until paid in full.

4. Customer obligations

  • Provide accurate billing, contact, and delivery information.
  • Maintain a valid payment method through the life of the plan.
  • Have adequate freezer capacity available at the delivery address (approximately 4 cu ft per quarter, 8 cu ft per half, 16 cu ft per whole).
  • Be available to accept frozen delivery, or arrange a substitute recipient.

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pasture is not liable for any product defect, food-safety event, illness, spoilage, mislabeling, missed delivery, weight variance, or any other fulfillment outcome. Your sole and exclusive remedy for any product or fulfillment dispute is against the vendor.

Pasture's aggregate liability for any claim relating to the platform is limited to the platform fees Pasture actually retained from the transaction giving rise to the claim.

6. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Pasture, its officers, employees, and contractors from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of (a) your use of the platform, (b) your violation of these Terms, or (c) your interaction with any vendor.

7. Dispute resolution & governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration in Oklahoma County, Oklahoma, except that either party may bring an individual action in small-claims court.

8. Intellectual property

The Pasture name, logo, software, and content are owned by Pasture or its licensors and are protected by U.S. and international intellectual-property laws. You receive a limited, revocable, non-transferable license to access the platform for personal use.

9. Account termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms, fraud, chargeback abuse, or risk to other users. You may close your account at any time; open payment plans remain payable per the Payment Plan Agreement.
